Appesat - the seaweed diet pill

So Appesat is going to be huge in both the UK and USA if the recent coverage in the UK is anything to go by!

Appesat is a natural appetite suppressant made from seaweed. So far clinical trial has shown Appesat to be effective at reducing weight for overweight and obese people.

Appesat is certainly not cheap though, one box effectively lasts you 5 and half days! So Appesat is not a recession friendly diet pill for those looking after the pennies.

For an in-depth review of Appesat take a look at this Appesat review.

Being fat and life expectancy

Studies have recently shown that being overweight or underweight can have the same health affects as smokers - by reducing live expectancy as much as smoking 10 cigarettes a day!

The British Medical Journal reported a doubling of the premature death rate if obese or smoked 10 cigarettes a day. In addition, being overweight or underweight, or smoking 10 or less cigarettes a day decreased your life expectancy by 30%.

This is a huge problem for the UK, especially with the rapidly increasing obesity figures. The UK is now becoming the fattest european country....

The fat gene mystery

That genetic differences are responsible for weight gain has long been thought by scientists. Indeed those suffering from excess weight are also sometimes keen to suggest this too. There maybe something to this though as slight differences in a single gene could be responsible for suppressing metabolism, thus making those individuals tired and unable to burn calories effectively.

Scientists now believe that the gene may control the rate of metabolism. This could well explain why some individuals find it more difficult to lose or to gain weight. With more testing scientists hope to develop drugs that will modulate the genes activity, but Dr Ruther suggests that the gene "have more complex effects on both food intake and energy expenditure than has been so far".
